Kristy Kurowski
Vocals
Professional recording artist since age 16, live performer since 18. Has performed at hundreds of European venues including Olympic Stadium in Seville and Glastonbury's Arcadia stage. "The Band I always wanted to be in".
Ray Foster
Vocals
Soul music enthusiast inspired by early Motown and Philadelphia sound. Began singing at 15, formed various bands with songwriting experience spanning soul to rock genres.
Pat Davey
Bass Guitar / Vocals
Accomplished bassist who has collaborated with Tom Robinson, Wings' Howie Casey, Brother Beyond, Jason Donovan, The Monkees, and numerous other artists. "The man who puts the big fat grooves into Groovemeister".
Andy Willcocks
Piano / Keyboards
Keyboard player since the 1980s with songwriting experience. Performed with One People (featuring Robbie Williams' bassist Jerry Meehan) and supported Mica Paris on tour. Loves the feelgood factor that Groovemeister create.
Paul Beavis
Drums
Professional drummer for 25 years, collaborating with Thea Gilmore, Sandi Thom, Andy Summers, Robert Fripp, The Waterboys, Bill Wyman, and Dire Straits' John Illsley. The consummate musician.
Simon Wood
Guitar
Session guitarist who worked with Wings' Howie Casey, Bad Company's Robert Hart, and Zombies' Colin Blunstone. Performs both laid-back funk riffs and sharp solos. An immensely talented guitarist who loves the funk.
Tim Fulker
Saxophone
Smooth when it counts, raw when it matters. Tim brings the soul to every solo and locks in tight with the horn section to deliver that unmistakable Groovemeister brass sound. If the sax is singing, Tim's driving.
Andy Urquhart
Trumpet
The other half of the horn section and the man who brings the heat. Andy's trumpet punches through the groove with precision and power, adding that extra layer of brass that takes every tune from great to unstoppable.
Our Story
How Groovemeister came together
Groovemeister was formed in 2015 when a group of talented musicians from across the South Coast came together with a shared vision: to create the ultimate funk and soul experience for live events. What started as a passion project quickly became one of Bournemouth's most sought-after function bands. Now an eight-piece powerhouse, the band continues to grow and evolve.
Each member brings their own unique musical background - from classical training to jazz improvisation, from touring rock bands to studio session work. But when we come together, there's only one mission: to make people dance.
We've performed at hundreds of weddings, corporate events, festivals, and private parties across Hampshire, Dorset, and beyond. From intimate venue gigs to large festival stages, we bring the same level of energy, professionalism, and pure funk to every single performance.
When we're not performing, you'll find us rehearsing new material, fine-tuning our arrangements, and constantly working to deliver the best possible show for our clients. Music isn't just what we do - it's who we are.
